We've built denim programs at scale before, so we know what it takes to build one properly. Every pair is designed, cut, sewn, and finished in California from mill-sourced Japanese cloth.

Selvage, explained
Selvage denim is woven on narrow shuttle looms that finish the fabric's edge as it's made. That self-finished edge is the tell — and, more importantly, the reason the fabric holds up.
Japanese denim
The mills we use in Okayama and Hiroshima have been weaving indigo for generations. Their cloth breaks in with character no dye process can fake.
Denim weights
Lightweight (10–12 oz) for warmer months and softer break-in. Midweight (13–14 oz) is our standard. Heavyweight (15 oz+) rewards patience with the sharpest fades.
Raw, rinsed, washed
Raw denim is unwashed — it ages to your body. Rinsed is a single wash for shape. Washed is finished in-house to a particular color and hand-feel.
Our fits
Slim, straight, tapered, wide, and relaxed — for both men and women. Every block is patterned on real bodies, not a size chart.
Measuring a pair of jeans
Waist flat across, front rise, inseam, thigh, knee, leg opening. All of our product pages publish these — no guessing.
Choosing a size
If you're between sizes in raw denim, size down half; the cloth relaxes with wear. In washed denim, size to fit.
Breaking in raw denim
Wear it. Six months, minimum, before the first wash. Turn inside out, cold water, hang dry. The creases are yours.
Repairs and longevity
We repair what we make. Our Montecito store can arrange denim repairs — hems, patches, crotch reinforcements, the lot.
